It started in Cádiz in 2007 and now it is already the fourth time that my parents come around to visit me at my birthday, wherever I am. That’s really nice! Now it was already the third time that they came to Helsinki, so that we had to think of different things to do than seeing the city, as they know it already. They arrived on Thursday the 13th in the afternoon, which is a national holiday here in Finland. Annika and me are training right now for an ultra-marathon in August, so that we took the free morning to run a marathon in Helsinki and made it right to the airport. After that we went home, had dinner and went to the city for a beer or two.

On Friday Annika had a day off and I had to work. She is already that good in German after such a short time, that she was able to handle the morning with my parents, who don’t speak English without any problem. I’m soooo proud :) They all together came to my workplace around 15h in the afternoon and then we took the boat to an island close to Helsinki, where we enjoyed a beer in the sun. Saturday we barbecued close to the shore. We took a walk there with all the barbecue-ingredients and you see already that the main goal of the vacations was: relaxing as much as even possible. The Sunday brought us to the national park, which is just a 40 minutes bus-ride away, where we went hiking and enjoying the nature, before we ended the visit with a nice dinner in down town. I was happy to see them again, to show them other things around the city they didn’t know yet and besides that it was the first visit here in Finland with me and Annika living together! All in all it was great, thanks for coming ;) And here are…
